But my days were not always so exciting.
Back before I met Marsha, I studied Middle Eastern Culture.
Like any unmarried man, my life had no meaning.

This old house is only about 2 miles from humble's house. Lisa, in the picture, didn't
say if she met Dudley Rockwell there or not. For many years Dudley was there most days in the summer.

Dockmother by Wilder Oakes
Wilder's work is collected by the Wyeth family. He had two shows in Manhattan, where he sold his mother (Dockmother) down the river.
He has been featured in Down East magazine and other glossy publications.
On August 20, 2008, Wilder's solo show will open at Mars Hall Gallery in Port Clyde.
My favorite Wilder Oakes picture is the one of the dog with his tongue hanging out. He is witty (Wilder, not the dog) and he was brought up in Port Clyde.
Wilder likes the Bones song.

Fifteen or 20 years ago Glen won a brand new chainsaw at my Annual Lobster Picnic. Two or three years ago
when the Booger Boy and I stopped in to see him, Glen returned the chainsaw to me --- in the same pristine condition in which he received it.
My buddy Grondin.
Years ago Mike got me to entertain his group when Maine hosted the National meeting on some island in Portland harbor. They gave me
a standing ovation (it was raining and there was no place to go). The Indiana contingent later invited me to entertain them out there. I got this story out of
the Indiana trip that I have told hundreds of times since:
While appearing on an afternoon program in Indiana with Dr. Sharon Yoder --- an expert on the healing properties of humor --- I learned that many hospitals now have humor rooms. Laughing at funny movies after operations activates some healing chemical and patients go home three days earlier than they did before.
The following week Dr. Hall was enthusiastically telling me about unbelievable doings at our own Medical Center. “We can’t believe it,” he exclaimed. “People are getting out of bed and going home from the hospital three days earlier than we ever thought possible.”
“You’ve got one of those new humor rooms,” I said knowingly.
“No, we doubled the room rates.”

Er det sant at det er mye mygg der?Er det kaldt?
Å, nei. Både mye mygg og kanskje kaldt!
Fem grader og snø eller sol og tyve grader?

I have a friend who listens to you every Friday if he is near a radio.
He even records your show to listen at his own leisure. (Doesn't know that he
can hear the last 8 shows on the Internet anytime anywhere in the world.)
His (BIG 50) birthday has just passed.
Here is a picture of Bob O doing what he loves most.

Long-time friend Richard Warner in humble's office/studio May 13, 2003.
Richard is the funniest man I know. He could easily write for Letterman or
Jay Lenno.
For years I recorded Richard's conversations and comments and sold them to over
50 newspapers as humor columns.

I just noticed that nowhere on my web pages does it say that my great, great, great, great, great grandfather, Dr. Moses Robinson, lived in Thomaston in 1734. Nola Mank Metcalf has a pretty comprehensive
data base of his descendants. I mention it here because someday, someone will be Googling Dr. Moses Robinson.
Stop by when you get to St. George, Maine and I'll give you a ride in
my 1919 Model T. When I was a kid it sat about 1,000 feet SE of where this
picture was taken. I bought it in 1951 for $10.
